Spring Into Action with Fun, Outdoor Toys

Spring has sprung in the Pacific Northwest! That is, if you don’t count the occasional week of cold, rainy days. But for those warm, sunny days of spring, Kazoodles has a treasure trove of fun toys to take outside! Here are just a few of the great spring toys we have to offer.

Bounce, catch or throw! Ogodisk gets your blood pumping no matter how you play with it.

Bounce, catch or throw! OgoDisk knows how to get your blood pumping!

There’s nothing quite as versatile as the OgoDisk. A pack comes with two disks, which vary in size, and one ball. You can bounce the ball from disk to disk, bounce and catch it, or throw either the ball or the disk! You can play a friendly game of catch or do something a little more competitive. If things heat up too much, take your OgoDisks into the pool, or try bouncing around water balloons.

Created by OgoSport, a duo of designers from the Pratt Institute, the OgoDisks were crafted to encourage outside play for kids and adults alike, and are designed to be therapeutic for children with special needs.

Personally, I think it would be fun to set up a net and play a little OgoVolleyball or even OgoBadminiton. You could even try OgoBaseball or OgoCricket. The sky’s the limit!

Kazoodles has the regular 15-inch mezo OgoDisks, as well as the 12-inch mini OgoDisks, for smaller kids.

Spooner Boards

Shred a hillside or just practice balance with a Spooner board.

Spooner boards are another versatile outdoor toy. Made as a year-round alternative to boarding sports (skateboarding, snowboarding, etc.), the Spooner board is a virtually indestructible piece of curved plastic with grips on the top. When the mountains start to thaw out, you can still have fun sliding down a hill on a Spooner.

If taking a Spooner board down the side of a hill seems a little daunting, you can always have fun on more horizontal ground. Practice balancing or flip tricks. Unlike so many other toys, the Spooner board has unlimited potential. You can always go out and work on your skills, and maybe even become a Spooner pro!

Kazoodles carries the pro model, the freestyle model, and even the smaller grom model.

Speed Stacks

Hone your Speed Stack skills, then challenge a friend!

Hone your Speed Stack skills, then challenge a friend!

Sport stacking is the game of stacking and unstacking plastic cups, as fast as possible. While it isn’t strictly a spring toy, it’s a great game to play around the picnic table. The trend has swept across the world, inspiring international competitions and backyard fun alike. Don’t be intimidated by the pros; they all started at the beginning, and they went through plenty of ups and downs to get where they are today.

Speed Stacks has everything you need to get started in sport stacking. Kazoodles carries the competition cups pack, which comes with 12 cups and an instructional DVD, and the Stack Pack, which has 12 cups, a DVD, a timer and a mat.

Get those hands and feet moving! Spring isn’t going to last forever, you know. Before you know it, we’ll be in the heat of summer, then into the chill of fall. Don’t waste a single second, get outside and enjoy the springtime while you still can!
